Visits to mountainous regions in Wales and Scotland have presented challenging subject-matter. These locations are particularly atmospheric and awe-inspiring. In an attempt to share this drama I have experimented with applying oil paint to board with the painting knife. The resulting marks seem to have a dynamic immediacy more suited to the subject. The six 'Bens' come together to form a diptych 'Six days, Ben Nevis'
